Birdsong School of Music

Dennis began playing guitar with his dad at age 7.  Music took a back seat however during his work career at Porter Cable in Jackson, TN. 

After having heart bypass surgery in 1998, while sitting around the house recuperating Dennis picked up his old J45 Gibson and began to play.  As they say the rest is history.  Music became his focal point.

In 2003 Dennis spent time at Steve Kaufman's flat picking guitar camp brushing up on his picking and learning advanced technique.

He play with many groups with a variety of genres including Celtic, bluegrass, country, and western swing.

Dennis not only plays guitar but also, fiddle, mandolin, banjatar, and bass fiddle.  He builds and repairs instruments as well.

He has played at many festivals throughout the southeastern United States.  He is a regular at the Jackson Area Plectral Society.  He does studio work with Gumball Studios, owned by Bill Weir former drummer for Conway Twitty.
